Video Description:

2D Animation (Fall 2020)

  • 00:00 - Normal Sucks -  A vampire tries to date a human to defy her family's expectations. I was the rough animator and the colorist through its production.
  • 00:10 - This is my take on learning 2D rigging (Skeletal Animation) using the limbs of an anthropomorphic giraffe
  • 00:12 - This project is about how I can build a world where we follow the journey of animals interacting with each other.

Stop-Motion Animation (Spring 2021)

  • 00:17 - Finding Form: a shapeshifter tries to decide how he can fit in with the rest of the animals in the forest. I created the set and worked on most of the animation.
  • 00:22 - Magic Shampoo: another stop-motion project with paper dolls as the main characters; I designed the backgrounds in Photoshop and worked on most of the animation.

Motion Graphics (Spring 2021)

  • 00:28 - A clip using After Effects software to create a world around an anthropomorphic giraffe.
  • 00:35 - Feteroids - a group project where we try to promote a fake product using After Effects.

3D Animation (Spring 2022)

  • 00: 43 - The purpose of this project was to teach myself the principles of animation through 3D software by using Autodesk 3ds Max which was paid for by my school. So I created an environment where I could bounce a ball around with a cork on a table.
  • 00:44 - This is my most recent project in using 3ds Max where I could play with the idea of anthropomorphizing a sack of flour.

Client based projects

  • 00:49 - (November 2022) Shortly after I graduated college, Jim Austin had me and my colleagues under contract to promote his business by creating this animated promo for his website.
  • 00:52 - (April 2023) Another client-based project where I was tasked to produce a short animated clip by a friend for her boyfriend in a style that she presented to me.
  • 00:55 - (September 2023) Designed as an invitation for my cousin's 15th birthday party

Sculpting (Spring 2022)

For this project, I made a zoetrope to represent the origins of animation and I concealed it inside a box that I built the same way that you would build a house to represent my origins as an assistant to a contractor. The box also includes a screen which allows you to look at the animation caused by rotating the zoetrope thus giving off the illusion that I what I made was actually a television set.
